Experienced goalkeeper Stephen Bywater has signed a new one-year deal at Sheffield Wednesday.
Bywater was offered a contract extension by manager Dave Jones and put pen to paper on Wednesday morning.
"It was a no-brainer for me, I was always going to sign as soon as I knew of the offer," said the 31-year-old. "This is the biggest club outside of the Premier League and that is fact.
"The last day of last season was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced in football and I was proud to play a part in our promotion. The challenge now is to do well in the Championship and if I didn't think that was an option, I would not be here."
Wednesday have supplemented the goalkeeping department with the addition of Chris Kirkland over the summer and Bywater has welcomed the competition.
He added: "I know Chris really well from our days with the England youth team. He's a nice lad and a good goalkeeper and I'm looking forward to working with him again. We also have Nicky Weaver and Arron Jameson, so we are looking strong in that area."
