Celtic manager Neil Lennon believes his team would hold their own in the Barclays Premier League.
Fresh speculation has surfaced of the club looking to move to England with reports south of the border claiming talks have been held with the Football League over an initial move to npower League One.
Celtic are 21 points ahead of Rangers and Motherwell in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, although their Old Firm rivals were docked 10 points for going into administration. Lennon told Sunday newspapers: "People keep saying the EPL is so far ahead - and in some respects it is. But Celtic could play there and do all right."
He added: "I don't know where we would finish but I don't think we would get relegated.
"But it is not just about quality - with our prestige, support, tradition and history, I think Celtic would add something extra to England's top flight."
