The Tigers were due to become the first international side to tour Pakistan since the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore in 2009. But Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan has ruled out that possibility until the situation in Pakistan improves.
"Bangladesh will not visit Pakistan for now," he was quoted as saying at a news conference.
"We have noticed the security situation in Pakistan has not improved significantly, rather it's deteriorated," added Nazmul.
"In this circumstance, we think it will not be very wise to tour. We have conveyed our decision to Pakistan already. We are observing the situation. If the situation improves we will keep our commitment."
Eight Pakistani policemen and civilians were killed and six members of the Sri Lanka team injured when gunmen attacked the bus as it was heading to a stadium in Lahore in March, 2009.
