Cricket - Capel takes role with England women

Former England all-rounder David Capel has been appointed as an assistant coach of the national women's team, the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed.

David Capel has linked up with the England women's cricket team

The 50-year-old will work alongside Carl Crowe as an assistant in a coaching team headed by Paul Shaw - recently appointed as the head of England Women's Cricket Performance.

Capel, who played for Northamptonshire for 17 years, was also head coach at his native county between 2006 and 2012.
