The Scandinavians left it until the tenth end to wrap up a 7-6 win and maintain their 100 per cent record atop of the round robin group.

Following closely behind are China and Norway, who have now won both their opening games after victories over USA and Russia respectively.

By virtue of an opening day defeat Great Britain are fourth, but they grabbed their second win of the Games on Tuesday with a tightly-fought 7-6 win over USA.

In contrast in the women's competition, reigning champions Sweden sank to their second defeat of the competition at the hands of Canada, who picked up their second win from two games.

In their stead Switzerland are making the early moves, beating both Denmark and Korea to take their place at the top of the standings.

The Russians however are still flying high in third, having beaten the Americans earlier in the day.
