Dean Jones says Oz can win Ashes if 'X-factors' Johnson, Warner 'fire'

Melbourne, Nov 15 (ANI): Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones has said that although Australia may have the advantage of seeing Mitchell Johnson and David Warner 'fire' in the winter Ashes, they need to beware of England bowler Stuart Broad. Jones expressed his eagerness to see Johnson, Warner and Broad in the winter Ashes as he believes that the trio are the 'X-factors' for their respective teams as their success, or lack of, can change the fortunes of their teams. According to The Age, Jones said that Australia has a chance of achieving success in the series if Warner fires and gets lucky, although he added that first, Warner should correctly read which way James Anderson is swinging the ball as it was his major problem in England. Stating that Warner must be smart about how he plays, Jones further said that along with the fact that Warner is looking fitter than before, Australia may have the advantage of a pitch with 'some life in it' in Brisbane if the weather forecast is poor for the next few days. Jones also said that England should also be worried about the form of Johnson, who is bowling fast again and has regained his confidence, adding that Johnson needs to perform at his best in the Ashes series and bowl well as then his length becomes the hardest thing to read for a opposition batsman. However, Jones warned Australia to beware of Broad as he can turn a match in just a couple of overs with his fast mediums, or he can put together a great partnership as he is more than useful with the bat, although he added that if the Australians can keep Broad quiet, then they are well on the way to defeating England.
