Diouf open to Leeds move

El-Hadji Diouf

Doncaster forward El-Hadji Diouf has confirmed his interest in joining Yorkshire neighbours Leeds.

Senegal international Diouf looked on from the sidelines with a hamstring injury in recent weeks as Rovers' expected relegation to npower League One became reality.

However, the 31-year-old could become one of Whites boss Neil Warnock's first signings, as he told Sky Sports News: "I have the utmost respect for Neil Warnock and I'd be delighted to help Leeds gain promotion to the Premier League. I know people have talked about the incident between me and Neil Warnock but it is in the past and is not an issue."

The move would come as a surprise given the public spat Diouf and Warnock when the then QPR manager accused the former Liverpool and Bolton star of abusing Jamie Mackie as he lay on the floor with a broken leg during last January's FA Cup tie with Blackburn.

Diouf denied the claims and responded by questioning Warnock's management credentials.
