The 29-year-old’s season has been curtailed by complications with the injury he suffered at the North West 200 last May, and his bad luck continued at Brands Hatch in round seven as he suffered a high-speed tumble in race two.
As a result the month-long break came at a good time for the Scot as he was able to get some valuable testing time under his belt at Donington Park last week, and now he is aiming to finish the season strongly.
Easton is looking to replicate his best result of the season, a podium finish at Oulton Park in May, and says there is no better place to do that than at the Lincolnshire circuit he considers one of his favourites.
“If anything the month off was well timed for me because I think I needed that break physically more than anything,” said Easton.
“We got a test in the middle of the break at Donington. It wasn’t spectacular to be honest but I wasn’t expecting it to be, I just wanted to get back on the bike and get the feel for it again.
“That said, I need to be aiming for podiums at this stage really.
“I’d put Cadwell in the same mould as Brands to be honest, it’s one of my favourite circuits.
“The circuit is hard work the whole way round but I always enjoy it, it’s a good solid track so hopefully I’m physically up to the task.
“The races come thick and fast now, there’s five rounds left and so I need to get back into the swing of things as quickly as possible.”
The Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider is also determined to repay the supported given to him by Paul Bird and his team since his sickening list of injuries last year.
And, with team-mate Shane Byrne currently second in the championship standings, Easton knows a return to the front of the pack would be a perfect way to do so.
“To be honest I haven’t really thought much about Shakey’s title fight really but it would be great for his chances if I was at the front to help him,” said Easton.
“From the moment Paul offered me a race seat when I was in the hospital last year they’ve been 100 per cent behind me – I feel like I need to repay that faith.”
