Erick Silva vs. Mike Rhodes Added to UFC's Year-End Brazilian Fight Night

The UFC’s end-of-year Fight Night card in Brazil is filling up fast.

UFC officials on Tuesday added a welterweight bout between Erick Silva and Mike Rhodes to the card, which is headlined by a five-round middleweight bout between Lyoto Machida and C.B. Dollaway.

UFC Fight Night 58 takes place on Dec. 20 at the Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Silva (16-5, 1 NC) enters the fight coming off of a headlining loss to Matt Brown at UFC Fight Night 40 in May.

Although Silva entered the Octagon in 2011 as one of the most highly touted Brazilian prospects in the world, he has alternated between wins and losses over the course of his eight-fight tenure. He’ll be looking to stave off the first back-to-back losses of his career.

Rhodes (6-3) is likely fighting for his roster spot against Silva. The former RFA champion has lost unanimous decisions to George Sullivan and Robert Whittaker in his first two fights in the Octagon. Not many fighters survive a third consecutive defeat under the UFC banner.
