Netherlands reached the European Under-21 Championship last four following a 5-1 walloping of 10-man Russia in Jerusalem.
Goals from Georginio Wijnaldum, Luuk de Jong, Ola John, Danny Hoesen and Leroy Fer saw Cor Pot's Dutch dispense of a battling Russia, whose hopes of a recovery went up in smoke when Nikita Chicherin was sent off early in the second half for a late, ill-advised challenge when trailing 1-0.
Netherlands confirmed their place in the last four when Spain defeated Germany in the night's other Group B match.
Wijnaldum gave his side the lead on 39 minutes when he drove a deflected drive into the corner of the net.
Chicherin was sent off for a two-footed challenge from behind on Adam Maher four minutes after the break.
Maher saw a volley clip the top of the bar, but the Dutch moved two to the good on 61 minutes when De Jong headed back across goal beyond Nikolai Zabolotny after he had been picked out by a lovely Marco van Ginkel cross.
Cheryshev followed up to score after Alan Dzagoev's header had come back off a post, but the Dutch restored their two-goal lead when Ola John dashed onto De Jong's headed flick on before lifting the ball over Zabolotny as he came off his line.
Substitute Hoesen added the fourth with his first touch of the match before John picked out Fer to net the fifth in injury time with their 10-man opponents wilting in the humidity of Israel.
