Beckford, who first arrived on loan at Huddersfield in September, will remain at the John Smith's Stadium until the end of May.
The former Leeds forward has made eight appearances and scored three goals for Huddersfield, who currently sit 15th in the npower Championship.
He will be available in all competitions, including the FA Cup, but will be ineligible for their visit to King Power Stadium on New Year's Day.
Beckford, rejected by Chelsea as a junior, joined Leeds from non-league Wealdstone in 2005 and after loan spells at Carlisle and Scunthorpe left Elland Road when his contract ran out and signed for Everton.
But he made only 15 starts for David Moyes' side in the Barclays Premier League and moved on to Leicester in the summer of 2011 for £3million.
The 29-year-old fell out of favour with Foxes manager Nigel Pearson at the start of this season and was allowed to team back up with former Leeds manager Simon Grayson at Huddersfield on September 12.
