Rotherham are keen to extend the stay of in-form midfielder Rob Milsom.

The 26-year-old summer signing from Aberdeen is only contracted to the Millers until January, but he has won plaudits for his recent performances.

And assistant manager Paul Raynor has confirmed a longer-term deal is in the offing.

"He is going nowhere in the forseeable future but it something we have got to look at," he said. "I am sure if he keeps playing at the level he is Steve (Evans) will be having a chat with him in the near future.

"It's on the radar to get something done with that and make sure he is tied down."

The former Fulham trainee did not start the season as first choice in Evans' midfield, but he has barged his way into the starting XI and Raynor hopes there is more to come.

"We always knew he was a good player, we did our homework on him and spoke to a number of people," he added.

"England's assistant manager (Ray Lewington) and Scotland's ex-manager (Craig Brown) gave us a fantastic reference.

"He was knocking on the door at Fulham when he was younger to get in their Premier League side, but struggled with injuries.

"We want to keep him injury-free and hope he continues the way he is. He is playing very well and he has to keep that consistency."
