The 26-year-old Liverpudlian had made just two substitute appearances for Town this season before returning to the side to complete his first 90 minutes following successive shoulder and thigh injuries.
"I'm buzzing to be fit again, because it's been a frustrating start to the season for me," said Woods after Saturday's goalless derby draw.
"I did my shoulder in pre-season and missed all the games, came back and made a couple of substitute appearances and then picked up a slight thigh strain.
"To start and get 90 minutes has done me the world of good fitness-wise.
"This was my first start of the season and the manager just asked me to go out and put a performance in - to defend and then get forward when I could. I'm happy to play anywhere. As long as I'm playing, I'm happy."
Huddersfield will chase their second home league win of the season against Charlton on Tuesday night and Woods added: "We'll be targeting three points.
"We've already played them once this season, so both teams know what they're coming up against."
