Boss Steve Lomas was keen for some of his first teamers to keep up their match fitness ahead of Saturday's clash against Huddersfield, with the Lions still looking for their first points of the Championship campaign.
They ran out 2-1 winners, going ahead through an own-goal and a Dany N'Guessan strike, with Sam Saunders netting a consolation for the home side.
Coach Neil Harris, who took charge of the Lions, told the club website: "It was a good game between two strong sides and we're pleased both with the individual and collective performances.
"It was important for the likes of Paul Robinson and Lee Martin in particular to continue along the road to full match fitness, and for everyone in the side it was an opportunity to give the manager a nudge in terms of his selection for Saturday's game against Huddersfield."
