Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway has backed Stephen Dobbie to hit the goal trail.

Kevin Phillips has found the net twice in three substitute appearances since joining from Blackpool but fellow frontman Dobbie, on loan from Brighton, has yet to get off the mark.

However, he was hugely influential in Palace's 4-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday and Holloway believes even better is to come.

"I've always said he's not your cake mix, he's your icing on the top," said Holloway.

"He's a beautiful, wonderful, fantastic player. If you're looking at him to tackle he won't always do that, but he's a beautiful artist and he's adding some things that I know and I want.

"I brought two players that know me so I haven't got to teach them anything, they're just adding to the group.

"Dobbs has just slotted right in. I think our fans haven't seen the best of him yet because he normally scores."
