Football - Humphreys set for milestone

Ritchie Humphreys will captain Chesterfield against Torquay to mark his 600th career league appearance.

Humphreys, who on Wednesday was formally sworn in as the new chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association, will take over the armband from Ian Evatt as the club recognise the 35-year-old reaching the landmark.

The Spireites, without a league win in seven matches and with no victory at Plainmoor for 29 years, expect to have an unchanged squad and, after romping to an impressive 3-0 success against Rochdale in midweek in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Blues boss Paul Cook could name an unchanged starting line up.

Full-back Nathan Smith (ankle) and midfielder Sam Morsy (knee) remain out while forward Gary McSheffrey (hip flexor) will not travel as a precaution.
