Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen insists he has no desire to call time on his career just yet.

The veteran, 37, is celebrating his testimonial year at Turf Moor having joined Stan Ternent's Clarets back in 2003, and many fans thought he may be nearing the end of his time in Lancashire.

But the Danish stopper is targeting a fresh deal at the club after fellow Turf veteran Michael Duff recently penned a one-year extension.

"I am not at all ready to retire," he said. "I want to keep playing for many years.

"I don't know if I'll be the oldest ever, but I'll keep on playing until my body tells me to quit. And at the moment I'm fine.

"I've heard that the manager is interested in an extension. We'll have to wait and see. I don't get to decide. I'm at an age now where you can hope for two years at the most but where one season is the common thing."

He added: "Every time a new keeper has arrived at Burnley I've focused on working harder and harder and now I've had six managers who've all liked what they've seen from me."
