Since Motherwell last played on January 25, when they drew with their League Cup conquerors Aberdeen, Lasley has watched the Dons reach the final and Albion Rovers continue to make headlines in the William Hill Scottish Cup following their shock Lanarkshire derby win.

The midfielder told MFCTV: "The boys have come back into training and you can see they are just desperate to get back out there.

"Watching both cup weekends was tough. There's still a sense of frustration there. You want it to be you, it's a great thing to be involved in the latter stages of cup competitions.

"I caught some of it but you don't want to watch too much of it because you end up sickening yourself even more."
