The Rangers striker, who scored in five successive games ahead of Sunday's 2-0 Scottish League One defeat of Ayr, comes in following the withdrawal of Josh Magennis.
Magennis has pulled out of the last two fixtures of their unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign because of a knee injury.
The Aberdeen striker came on as a substitute for the closing 18 minutes of Saturday's Scottish Premiership defeat at Ross County, but will not link up with Michael O'Neill's squad for the forthcoming matches against Azerbaijan and Israel.
