Football - Moore happy to pocket point

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore believes his side deserved the point from their 1-1 draw against his former side Rotherham.

A minute after the Millers were denied a clear spot-kick Kieran Agard fired them ahead, but they could not hold on and Ryan Lowe equalised from the spot six minutes from time after a Tom Skarz foul on substitute Abdulai Bell-Baggie.

"They battered us for 20 minutes, but our keeper made good saves at the right time and while you are only one down you are always in with a chance," said Moore.

"I am gutted with the goal, getting done with a long ball over the top. But give us credit, we kept going and were deserved it. Bell-Baggie looked nice and sharp and at the end of the day we might have nicked it.

"Most of their shots were from outside the penalty area. Rotherham had a lot of possession in the first half but really and it was nice to come in at half-time not chasing the game.

"I can only praise the players. Steve Evans will probably say Rotherham should have won , but I am in the other box and I think it was a well-deserved draw."
