Yann Kermorgant scored twice and Jonathan Obika and Johnnie Jackson once each to ensure the Addicks ended the campaign ninth and undefeated in eight games.

Bottom club Bristol City finished without a win in nine games and O'Driscoll preparing for life in League One.

"What we have tried to do is instil habits and attitudes that, no matter what division you are in, you need as a team," he said.

"That's been something that when you look at the last two seasons we have probably been lacking, not through anyone's fault.

"You have to reflect on where you are as a football club and we are trying to address that, not just on the playing field but throughout the whole business. We have got to change the culture.

"Bobby (Reid) took his goal well. I don't know how big (Charlton goalkeeper) David Button is but to chip him over his head is pretty good. He saw his mum in the crowd after scoring and wanted to celebrate with her, and we were telling him to get the ball and start again."
