By his own admission, Roberts has struggled to reproduce his early-season form since returning from a three-match suspension in mid-October.
But the winger followed up scoring his fifth goal of the season against Daventry in the FA Cup on Saturday by orchestrating the Spireites' 3-0 victory over Dale on Tuesday night.
Roberts, 29, set up all three goals as man-of-the-match Ollie Banks scored his first goals for the club either side of Armand Gnanduillet's strike.
"I'm happy with the performance of myself and the team," Roberts told Press Association Sport.
"I think since I came back from the suspension I haven't been as free-flowing as I was before it so to come back and get a goal on Saturday and then some assists is nice.
"I felt back to myself. I felt comfortable on the ball and I found myself in dangerous areas of the pitch where the manager has been saying to me I need to get into.
"Once I get into those positions I feel I can pick passes and make goals for other players.
"It's pleasing to have done that because for the quality we've got in the team we haven't been getting enough goals, so to set up three is great."
