Summer signing Jon Stead could be included in the squad after missing the weekend defeat at Nottingham Forest due to a groin injury, but defender Calum Woods (collarbone) and midfield pair Keith Southern (calf) and Anton Robinson (knee) remain sidelined.

Midfielder Jonathan Hogg and striker Martin Paterson made their debuts at Forest, while another new arrival, former Real Madrid B striker Cristian Lopez, made his first appearance for the club off the substitutes' bench.

Defender Anthony Gerrard (calf), an unused substitute on Saturday, could feature, while Adam Hammill and Jake Carroll will be hoping to start.
