Football - Spurs to focus only on themselves

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris insists Tottenham must focus all their efforts on beating Sunderland on the final day of the Barclays Premier League season - and not whether Arsenal might slip up at Newcastle.

The Gunners moved back up into fourth place after their 4-1 home win over Wigan on Tuesday night sent the FA Cup winners down.

Spurs are a point behind their north London rivals, and with an inferior goal difference so have to secure victory over Sunderland, who are now safe, and hope the Gunners draw or are beaten on Tyneside.

Lloris accepts should Andre Villas-Boas' men lose sight of producing their own required performance, then it will not matter what happens anywhere else.

Speaking to the club's official website, www.tottenhamhotspur.com, the France international said: "We can't think about the Arsenal result, we have to think about our performance, we need three points and from there, we can see what happens.

"It won't be easy. Sunderland have good players, a good team and when we played against them in December, it was a tough game. That was a good result for us.

"It has been difficult for them and a number of teams concerned with relegation.

"Paolo di Canio has realised his objective, he has saved the team in the Premier League and it is never easy to play against a team that has no pressure."
