A goal in first-half stoppage time from Jamie Walker and two more by Tony Watt and Lewis Toshney after the break secured a 3-0 win over Luxembourg as the Dark Blues kicked off their Group Three campaign to start down a road that will hopefully take them all the way to the 2015 finals in the Czech Republic.

But it was the performances of central midfielders Fraser Fyvie, Stuart Armstrong and Stuart Bannigan that really pleased Stark.

He said: "Fraser is a confident boy. He is a type of midfield player that is prevalent in the modern game. He takes things, keeps the ball moving and gets us going.

"We had a lot of good performers. I thought Armstrong was a class act in the middle of the park and Stuart Bannigan got about his midfield work and helped us to get a foothold in the game and control it.

"We started off a bit nervously but recovered well and played some really nice football and did the damage.

"To get the goal before half-time was a great boost and I'm absolutely more than satisfied by the start to the campaign."
