Goalkeeper Michel Vorm wants Swansea to show the physical side to their game between now and the end of the season.

The Swans have enjoyed an excellent campaign to date as they sit ninth in the Premier League table with the Capital One Cup securely locked away in the Liberty Stadium trophy cabinet.

Michael Laudrup's side have won plenty of plaudits for their attractive style of play, but Vorm believes it is substance that will be needed over the closing weeks of the season.

He told the South Wales Evening Post: "It's about attitude and mentality.

"You have to not be afraid to put your foot down because the opposition do that.

"It's always us who are on the receiving end of elbows and kicks. We can also do it.

"It's part of us maturing our game, because teams can't stop us football-wise when we play so well even on a bad pitch.

"Most of the other teams are physically stronger than us, but sometimes we have to show that we are not only a team who plays good football.

"We also have to show the strength and power you need."
