Nottingham Forest will continue discussions with representatives of Nigel Doughty's estate over the course of the next fortnight, the club have announced.

With owner Doughty having died on February 4, the Reds had hoped to be in a position to clear up any uncertainty regarding their financial future on Wednesday.

However, following meetings this week it remains to be seen what action will be taken on the substantial loans still owed to Doughty by the club.

A statement on Forest's official website read: "Senior management from Nottingham Forest have held their first meeting with the representatives of the estate of the club's owner, Nigel Doughty, who died suddenly earlier this month.

"Discussions are at an early stage and the club will hold further meetings during the next fortnight, after which they plan to release a more detailed statement.

"The patience of all those who care for, are involved with and are interested in the club is greatly appreciated during this very difficult time."
