Former Fighter and Pro Wrestler Sean O'Haire Reportedly Committed Suicide

Former mixed martial artist and professional wrestler Sean O’Haire apparently died at his own hand.

O’Haire was found dead in his home in Spartanburg, S.C. on Monday. He was 43 years of age.

The news had been widely reported by professional wrestling websites, and confirmed by an obituary on Tributes.com. But TMZ Sports on Thursday, citing local police, broke the news that O’Haire had apparently committed suicide.

According to the report, “He was found in his bedroom beside his bed, with a red rope tied around his neck and connected to the bedpost. His body was discovered by his father, who then called 911.”

A popular figure in both the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) pro wrestling organizations, O’Haire also amassed a respectable 4-2 record in mixed martial arts in the mid-2000s.

During his time in MMA, O’Haire competed for both K-1 and Pride, including a notable victory over Shungo Oyama at K-1’s Rumble on the Rock event in Hawaii in 2004.
