Pujolar switched from Williams to Toro Rosso over the winter, leaving the way open for Ferrari's Rob Smedley to make the move across to the Grove-based outfit.

Toro Rosso appointed Pujolar to a senior race engineer role and Vergne has revealed that the Spaniard will work with him directly at grands prix from now on.

"I will have a new race engineer, Francisco Javier Pujolar, because my previous one, Phil Charles is switching to the role of chief engineer this year," said Vergne.

Smedley's move from Ferrari to Williams has not yet been confirmed, but is expected to be announced imminently.
