An opening round of 64 at the par 70 Kennemer Golf & Country Club had put Jimenez in front on his own on Thursday and he followed it up with a 67 to go nine-under par.

Larrazabal joined him there with a second round 66 and they hold a one shot lead over Simon Dyson, Julien Quesne and Oliver Fisher.

Out of that trio – Dyson enjoyed the best round as he shot a 63.

Next comes David Drysdale on seven under while Jorge Campillo (who also shot 63), Anthony Snobeck, Matthew Nixon and Joost Luiten area all one shot further back.

Scores from the European Tour Dutch Open at the par-70 course on Friday in Zandvoort. The cut was set at 139.
