Ghana international Gyan makes the move for an undisclosed fee having spent last season there on loan.

Gyan, 26, joined Sunderland from French club Rennes for a club record £13 million in 2010. After just a year on Wearside – during which he scored 11 times in 37 appearances – he forced through a loan move to Al-Ain after the summer transfer deadline had passed.

At Al-Ain, Gyan scored 22 goals in 18 league games to help the club claim the Pro-League title.
