The Hit List: UFC Injury Updates on Mighty Mouse, Johny Hendricks, Hector Lombard, Others

Olympic Gold Medalist Henry Cejudo Signs with UFC, Set to Fight Scott Jorgensen at UFC 177

Several UFC fighters are on the hit list, recently suffering injuries. We have updates on the condition of many of them.

Demetrious Johnson:

The UFC’s flyweight champion underwent shoulder surgery and is “feeling great,” according to UFC Tonight. He is now targeting the first Fox Sports 1 event on Aug. 17 for his return against John Moraga.

Johny Hendricks:

Hendricks was afraid that he may have broken his hand in his UFC 158 bout with Carlos Condit and jeopardized his shot at UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. He told MMAWeekly.com official content partner Bleacher Report on Wednesday, however, that the swelling in his hand went down dramatically, so he decided that a trip to the doctor wasn’t necessary.

Hector Lombard:

Lombard not only lost to Yushin Okami at the recent UFC on Fuel TV 8 in Japan, but suffered an injury as well. Lombard expects to be sidelined for four to six weeks, according to UFC Tonight, but is hopeful for a return to the Octagon later this year.

Rory MacDonald:

MacDonald suffered a neck injury during training that forced him out of his scheduled UFC 158 bout with Carlos Condit. UFC Tonight reports that he aggravated the injury last week, but is hoping to return sometime this summer or early fall.

Jim Hettes:

Another injury report from UFC Tonight put Jim Hettes out of his UFC 159 bout with Steven Siler. Siler will instead face Strikeforce import Kurt Holobaugh.
