Huff inspired by IRC adventure

FIA WTCC star Rob Huff says being Eurosport’s guest at the Tour de Corse has given him a thirst for competing in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge one day.

Huff, who joined the Eurosport team for the fourth round of the challenge in Corsica, says watching the competition at close quarters inspired him.

“Watching the Super 2000 cars in action was awesome and gave me a real thirst to do it myself,” Huff said.

“Getting driven through the first stage gave me a real taste of what the IRC is all about and what these guys are capable of," the Briton said.

After having been along the rally course, Huff was given a tour of ŠKODA UK Motorsport’s service area.

During his time with the team, he studied the work of 2011 IRC champion and current point leader Andreas Mikkelsen, learning more about the Fabia Super 2000.

“I haven't been to a rally in more than 20 years and an asphalt rally like this is as close as it gets to circuit racing,” said the Chevrolet ace.

"It's been a really good experience - I still can't get over how spectacular the action has been.”
