Jon ‘War Machine' Koppenhaver Jail Cell Suicide Letter Reportedly Uncovered
Jon “War Machine” Koppenhaver recently tried to commit suicide while being held in a Clark County jail cell in Las Vegas on multiple charges stemming from an alleged assault on his former girlfriend and a male friend of hers at her home.
TMZ on Monday released a copy of War Machine's alleged suicide note, which addressed his family and friends. Those addressed personally included Christy Mack, his former girlfriend that had to be admitted to a hospital after the alleged attack that led to War Machine‘s arrest.
“To: Christy, my one: I truly love you and planned on being with you forever I know that I had many flaws an that I wasn't the best BF at times. When I left you in May, it didn't take me long to realize my mistake. I loved you more than my freedom. When we re-united, I was 100-percent dedicated. I know you felt it. I guess it was too little, too late… Finding what I found that night was devastating to me. More than you will ever know… If I could do it all over again, I'd have just laid down and let him beat me up… I forgive you, please forgive me.”
On Aug. 15, War Machine was arrested on multiple charges, including the assault and attempted murder of Mack and her friend, Corey Thomas. He was apprehended in California and extradited to Las Vegas. According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, War Machine’s lawyer, Brandon Sua, told a Las Vegas judge that they are seeking a plea deal with prosecutors.

The rate of state prison suicide nationally has been steady over the past decade, averaging 15 incidents per 100,000 inmates nationwide. That, however, is down considerably from 30 years ago, when when it was nearly twice that level.
