Jonny sexton has been named in the Racing Métro squad to face Stade Francais on Saturday. The out-half is expected to be given the start, ahead of Juan-Martin Hernandez, when the starting XV is announced later today.

Sexton has not featured for the Top 14 side since shipping a concussive blow from France centre Mathieu Bastareaud in Ireland’s 22-20 win in Paris. Sexton was assisted off the pitch at Stade de France but was able to join his teammates for the Six Nations trophy ceremony after the final whistle.

He flew back to Ireland with his international teammates on the Sunday after the game but was back in Paris by Monday and, within 24 hours, denying rumours he would return to Leinster after just a season with his new team. He was left out of the Racing team that beat Grenoble 26-13 last weekend.

The result left Racing in seventh position, one spot off the Heineken Cup qualification places. Stade, having led the way for much of the season, have slipped to fifth and are just two points clear of their Parisian rivals.

Grenoble, having lost three games in succession, are away to Oyonnax on Saturday and need to win their remaining four games to have a hope of reaching next season’s Heineken Cup. League leaders Clermont are away to Brive this evening while Toulon host a depleted Toulouse, who have rested many top players ahead of next weekend’s Heineken Cup date with Munster.
