Los Rojiblancos banged in three goals in the first half in a dominating attacking display.

Joan Capdevila’s 11th-minute own-goal set Sevilla off, with Coke and Alvaro Negredo both scoring before the midway point in the first half.

Los Nervionenses are in eighth place with a record of 13 wins, 14 losses and seven draws.

In an earlier Liga match on Sunday, struggling Real Zaragoza moved out of the bottom three with a surprise 3-0 win at home to Rayo Vallecano.

Apono opened the scoring with a 26th-minute penalty, adding his second and his team’s third in injury time after Rodri made it 2-0 early in the second half.

Zaragoza leapfrog Deportivo la Coruna into 17th, while Rayo sit in ninth place.
