According to reports in Spanish press, The Argentine has been, in recent weeks, linked with a move away from the Mestalla, with Los Che not including him in first team plans and viewing his sale as necessary to raise further funds.
Whilst there have been offers from Metalist of Ukraine and Philippe Montanier’s new side Rennes, the former move has not materialised and the latter has now apparently been turned down by the player.
Piatti is believed keen to stay in Spain and is seen today as with two potential options on the table.
Specifically it is believed that Getafe are primarily looking at the 24-year-old, but that they must first get around Valencia’s desire for an outright sale clashing with their wish to take the former Almeria man on loan.
Piatti, who Valencia are believed to be looking for €2million (£1.7m) from his sale, which would also offload his €1.3million (£1.1m) salary, has also apparently attracted interest from Celta Vigo.
Monterrey have reportedly accepted Valencia’s terms on the transfer of striker Dorlan Pabon, avoiding possible litigation with FIFA.
Los Che offered the Mexican club €7.5million (£6.5m) earlier this week to activate a buyout clause in the Colombian striker’s contract.
Whilst the player quickly passed a medical and has reportedly signed off on a four-year contract, Monterrey President Amadeo Salvo revealed that there was a hold up on the transfer.
The Mexicans, who only agreed a deal to sign Pabon in January from Parma, and only saw him arrive after a six-month loan spell in La Liga with Real Betis, were reportedly pushing that the buyout clause was an after tax figure, rather than pre-tax.
However, Superdeporte understand that, with Los Che threatening to involve FIFA in proceedings, Monterrey have accepted terms.
Pabon is expected to fly out to Valencia in the coming days to formally complete his transfer, after resolving bureaucratic issues in Colombia.
