Striker Villa was advised to stay in Barcelona and train rather than travel to Italy for the Champions League last-16 clash with Milan after being hospitalised with kidney stones in early February.
"Today I returned to train with my team-mates, but after the colic of last week I am still not 100 per cent. So we have decided to stay in Barcelona and train hard these two days! Thank you to everyone!," said Villa before Barca's 2-0 loss to AC Milan.
Barca hold a 12-point lead over second-placed Atletico Madrid before Sevilla visit the Camp Nou on Saturday night.
Adriano is likely to remain on the sidelines as he tries to recover from a hamstring injury.
