Loeb relaxed about qualifying result

Defending World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb says he does not expect to be hindered by missing out on the fastest time on Thursday's Rally Mexico qualifying stage.

The Frenchman finished third on the test and will run 12th on the road through the opening leg of the Leon-based event. Petter Solberg was fastest and chose to run as far back on the road as possible - with the drivers behind him on the qualifying stage following the Norwegian's lead.

Loeb said: "Petter is 14 on the road and we are 12. All four of us drivers [Solberg, Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala] are close together, so I don't think this is going to make a big difference."

First to select his place in the running order, Solberg said: "In these conditions you need to be as far back [as possible]. It might not make much of a difference when we are further back, but every little difference helps. There is a lot of loose on the roads and you want as many cars going through as possible."

Portuguese Mini driver Armindo Araujo will be first onto the stage, with team-mate Paulo Nobre right behind him.
