Maguire ends White's Polish dream

Jimmy White's dream of winning the Gdynia Open in Poland came to an end at the quarter-final stage as he lost to Stephen Maguire.

White came through his second round match in thrilling style as he beat Liang Wenbo 4-3, but he could not match the Scot's firepower in what was the first of the quarter-final matches on Saturday evening.

Ding Junhui earned an incredible double-scalp at the tournament, first beating John Higgins 4-3 in an exciting first round match on Saturday morning before downing world number one Mark Selby in the evening last-16 match.

Ding will face Michael Holt in the quarter-finals, whiele Tian Pengfei will play Neil Robertson and Jamie Burnett will take on Kurt Maflin.
