Lasith Malinga recorded the second best Twenty20 bowling figures in history as Melbourne Stars claimed a 10-wicket victory under the Duckworth-Lewis method over Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.
Malinga took six wickets for just seven runs in his four overs as the Scorchers collapsed to 69 all out at the WACA.
The Sri Lanka paceman's effort is second only to slow left-armer Arul Suppiah's six for five for Somerset against Glamorgan last year.
Shane Warne took one for nine from his three overs to bounce back from conceding 41 runs in two overs against Melbourne Renegades in the Stars' last outing.
England's limited-overs batsman Luke Wright hammered 23 from 11 balls as the Stars reached 29 without loss after two overs in reply before the rain intervened.
The match ended in farcical circumstances when the Stars were set a Duckworth-Lewis target of six from five overs, ensuring that only one more ball needed to be bowled upon the resumption.
