Managers: Dalglish slams Liverpool

Liverpool 0-1 Fulham

Kenny Dalglish (Liverpool manager): "I don't think it can be described as a performance. The attitude was very poor. I think we got what we deserved from the game and that was absolutely nothing. If you don't approach the game properly you're not going to get anything. I take part of the blame because I thought I was being fair to everybody by giving them the opportunity to get some minutes on the pitch. The game coming up on Saturday is important to the club. I tried to be fair and give everyone an opportunity - maybe I was wrong. There were one or two positives but there were too many negatives. We cannot play at that tempo, we have to play at a quicker tempo than that. We deserved nothing."

Billy McKinlay (Fulham first team coach): "Hopefully I'll have a better conversation with him (absent manager Martin Jol) than I did after the game on Saturday and that performance will cheer him up a bit. He was close to coming today but an extra day or two was needed to shake off this chest infection. I wasn't aware (of Fulham's awful record at Anfield). I don't worry about history or statistics too much. The response to Saturday's poor performance was evident and they deserve the plaudits. I am delighted. Many things pleased me tonight: the performance, first and foremost, with the result a consequence of that. I couldn't be more pleased. Everything which could go wrong went wrong on Saturday but tonight there were lots of pleasing things."

Stoke 1-1 Everton

Tony Pulis (Stoke manager): "Sometimes you get them (substitutions) right, sometimes you don't. I'm standing here and I'm no genius - you don't know until they come on what effect they will have, and if anybody tells you any different, well then I'm telling you the truth. I thought Everton were the better team in the first half without a doubt. Their goal was a little bit fortuitous, but they deserved it. In the second half I thought we came more into the game. We looked a little bit tired and jaded in the first half, but second half I thought we deserved to get a point out of it.''

David Moyes (Everton manager): "Getting the first goal helped us. That's always important. We gave away a lot of free-kicks at the start of the second half and that gave them a bit of momentum. We couldn't quite get that second goal. But Stoke were much better in the second half and it's not a bad point away at Stoke. We've tried to finish the best we could in the second half of the season. I'd like to do it in the first half as well."
