Liverpool's manager Brendan Rodgers argues with his Stoke City counterpart Tony Pulis

Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

Brendan Rodgers: "I am obviously disappointed we didn't win the game but I thought the attitude and application of the players was terrific. As the game on we got into good areas but it was just that final touch, that final decision at the end of it didn't allow us to score. There were a lot of real positives from the game and our first clean sheet which is important...

(On Suarez's blatant dive late in the match) "I haven't seen the incident so I can't really comment on it, but whatever Luis does there will always be a problem, whether it's media, referees or whatever. It gets brought up every week, it's something that is not new. I thought he was terrific today, some of his movement and combinations... (on Stoke being too physical) No, they are a bunch of big men who make it difficult for you and there is no right or wrong way to play football. What I was proud of is our young guys stood up to that. It was a physical game today but no complaints from us."

Tony Pulis: "I thought Suarez (tried it on) again today. I've been on about people falling over and the one incident in the second half. It's an embarrassment being a professional footballer (and doing that). He's a fantastic player, he's got great ability and he is the one player we were frightened to death of today, but doing things like that... Retrospective decisions are made on a Monday by the FA and they should be looking at this. Give him three games and he will stop falling over. What happens is that he puts pressure on the referee and every time he goes down you've got 40,000 Liverpool fans getting after the ref and I don't think that's right.

"I don't know how many times he has fallen over but the one in the penalty box is just an embarrassment and how he has not been booked I just don't know. I am concerned about the simulation and putting pressure on the ref. It's a tough enough job as it is. For professional footballers to be doing that is just not right and the PFA should start talking about it."

Newcastle 0-3 Manchester United

Alan Pardew: "The goals were not wonder-goals, they were two set-plays, and we were very disappointed with the goals, especially how organised we are as a rule... (on Robin van Persie's apparent assault on Yohan Cabaye) He has looked at Yohan and he has elbowed him, and I think that perhaps needs to be looked at, if I am honest. There's a bit of history from last year and I don't know if Robin has been caught up in that, but that was just a little bit unsavoury. I actually thought Yohan wouldn't have gone down if he hadn't done something."

Alex Ferguson: "It was a great result. To come here and win 3-0 against a very powerful, aggressive Newcastle team, you have to really perform and make sure you keep control of the game, and I think we did that most of the time... It's strange - we played such good football and made a lot of good openings, but we scored from two set-pieces, which is unusual for us, so we will take it, anyway. Patrice, I think has only scored two goals and I think Jonny Evans has only scored two goals."

Tottenham 2-0 Aston Villa

Andre Villas-Boas: " The ambition to be among the top teams we have is immense and (the four-match win streak) gives us a good opportunity (against Chelsea next time out). It's obviously going to be a difficult game but we are showing good levels of competence and we hope to profit from the fact that we play at home, and profit from the fact that we play an unbeaten league leader. That will help on our motivation to try to beat them... (on dropping Brad Friedel for the first time in 310 games) Obviously the change was not based on performance because Brad has been immense for this football team... We spoke among the staff this week about it and we thought it was logical to let Hugo come into a Premier League game because he can't just play in the Europa League. Brad obviously was disappointed with the decision but accepted it like the good professional he is."

Paul Lambert: "(on Christian Benteke missing a free header) That was a big moment. When you have chances like that at a place like this you have to put them away... (on why he selected Benteke over Darren Bent) Christian gives you a different option. Darren's threat is going in behind. That was the only reason why we did it. Tottenham's full-backs are going to bomb on at every opportunity so that's why I went with that decision. Darren has been fine about it."

Southampton 2-2 Fulham

Nigel Adkins: "Obviously I am delighted we've come back so late on after going behind, but disappointed to concede the goals we did. The first half was good. We passed the ball well at certain stages. We scored a good goal from a set play and could have maybe scored some more so the first half was very pleasing. The second half Fulham have come out and had a bit more possession of the ball. It was too open for our liking. We weren't compact enough in our pressing as a team and we conceded a couple of poor goals. We'd like to think we could've done better with them, but there was great character from the players to score at the very end."

Martin Jol: "I wasn't pleased with either goal but I was very pleased with the resilience and character. We did better in the second half. We stood up and played like we always did before. We put them under pressure and created more. Our better players had the ball and we played football... (on not being given a free kick for a foul on Kieran Richardson moments before the free kick the other way which led to the equaliser) It was 100 per cent a free-kick and I know as I remember I thought 'now we are fine, now we have the ball and the pressure is gone'... But two seconds later it was a free-kick for them. That happens and, of course, if it hadn't they wouldn't have scored."
