Keith Mason is on the lookout for a new club after leaving Huddersfield

Former St Helens prop Keith Mason has left Huddersfield, the Giants have revealed.

The 30-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the John Smith's Stadium following the signing of front row forwards Craig Kopczak, Stuart Fielden, Anthony Mullally and Akuma Ta'ai.

In a statement, the club said: "Huddersfield Giants can confirm that Keith Mason left the club on the 4th of October. The matter is in the hands of solicitors and, therefore, the club will not be making any further comment at this time."

Mason, who was a member of Huddersfield's 2009 Challenge Cup final team, has been linked with a return to one of his former clubs Wakefield, who are on the look-out for an experienced prop.
