Schalke, 1-0 down from the first leg, will have defender Joel Matip available despite his red card in the Netherlands as they have appealed against his dismissal. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar also returns to face his countrymen after missing the first leg due to injury but Teemu Pukki is cup-tied and Benedikt Howedes is injured.
Twente welcome back Willem Janssen and Douglas from domestic suspensions while Wesley Verhoek and Danny Landzaat are unlikely to be fit. Andrej Rendla is out with a knee injury.
Huub Stevens: "We must not dwell on the first leg anymore - that is now behind us and we can no longer influence it. We know that Twente are in the better situation, but our aim has got to be to strike at the right moment."
Steve McClaren: “We go there and we know what a 1-0 result is like at home - it’s very fragile. You are vulnerable to conceding a goal, then you have to score three. But we know that Schalke are a team who are capable of scoring goals, they have Huntelaar and Farfan back so they will be a bigger threat.”
Schalke 4/6, FC Twente 4/1, Draw 11/4.
