Motherwell manager Stuart McCall watched his side secure a 4-0 win in the William Hill Scottish Cup - then claimed Queen's Park deserved all the credit.

Omar Daley set the ball rolling at Fir Park after just six minutes, before Jamie Murphy put the fourth round tie beyond doubt with a double. New signing Henrik Ojamaa then came off the bench to mark his debut for the Steelmen with a last-minute goal.

McCall said: "I thought Queen's Park were excellent from the first minute to the last. They would have been disappointed losing the early goal but they kept at it."

He added: "In the second half, they looked like the team who were going to score.

"For their whole attitude and the way they played, great credit goes to them.

"We did all right in patches but all that was missing for Queen's Park today were their shooting boots."

Spiders boss Gardner Speirs felt the 4-0 loss was not a true reflection of his side's performance against their Clydesdale Bank Premier League hosts.

He said: "We have a number of good players and I think they did themselves justice today.

"What we will see tomorrow is a 4-0 defeat and that hurts us. It hurts the players and the supporters who I thought were fantastic as well.

"I'm disappointed with the score but certainly not the performance because I thought the guys were excellent."
