McPake may make permanent Hibs switch

James McPake

Coventry defender James McPake's future may be away from the club with Hibernian reportedly planning a £100,000 bid.

The 27-year-old is currently on loan at the Scottish Premier League club but insists he has never looked for a way out of the Ricoh. McPake is set to lead Hibs out in the Scottish Cup final next week and manager Pat Fenlon hopes to hang on to his captain.

"Since he's come in, he's been different class," Fenlon told the Coventry Telegraph.

"He's what we need in the club; he's a great leader and we'd love to keep him but he's a Coventry player and we need to try and sort that out first."

When asked if a bid would be made to the Sky Blues, he said: "That might be the case but I don't know that."
