Neil Magny vs. Sergio Moraes Added to UFC 163 Card in Rio

A welterweight bout between former The Ultimate Fighter participants Neil Magny and Sergio Moraes has been added to the building UFC 163 fight card set for Aug. 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

UFC officials announced the match-up on Tuesday.

Magny (8-1) made his way to the UFC via the sixteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter coached by heavyweights Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson.

He advanced to the semifinals of the show before being knocked out by Mike Ricci. Magny made his official promotional debut at UFC 157 on Feb. 23, winning a unanimous decision against Jon Manley.

Moraes (7-2) appeared on the debut season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil. He advanced to the semifinal round of the tournament before being knocked out by Daniel Sarafian.

The Brazilian is returning from knee surgery following an ACL injury in his last fight, a submission win over Renee Forte at UFC 153 in October of 2012.

UFC 163 takes place at the HSBC Arena and is headlined by the featherweight title bout between champion Jose Aldo and Anthony Pettis.

The only other confirmed bout for the card is between welterweight Josh Koscheck and Demian Maia.
