Preston want to further improve their strikeforce after the signing of Lee Trundle

Preston chairman Peter Ridsdale has promised further firepower after Lee Trundle completed his move to Deepdale.

Veteran forward Trundle penned a one-year contract on Friday to become North End boss Graham Westley's 13th signing of a summer overhaul.

But Ridsdale claims a long-time target may yet offer Westley further options in the final third.

"We have someone in mind who we've been tracking all summer," Ridsdale told the Lancashire Evening Post.

"He's a proven goalscorer and we'd like to do a deal at the right price.

"It's not someone who has been at the club (on trial) during the pre-season."
