Northampton release two more players

Nathaniel Wedderburn and Lewis Young are the latest Northampton players to have been told that they will not have their contracts renewed at the end of the season.

Wedderburn made his first start for over a year during the recent defeat at Crawley and the midfielder was on the bench for the goalless draw at Hereford last weekend.

However, both he and striker Young, who has fallen out of favour in recent weeks, will now be joining Jason Crowe, Ryan Gilligan and Michael Built in departing in the summer.

"As with Ryan and Jason I wanted to tell the lads early to give them every chance to beat the summer rush and get fixed up elsewhere," said Town boss Aidy Boothroyd.

"We wish both players well for the future, they are both good lads but their futures lie away from Sixfields."
